A controlled design

Like its predecessors, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro is a big smartphone. Here we hold a 164 mm high device for 76.5 mm wide with a thickness of 8.1 mm.In terms of weight, the product does not exceed the 200 gram mark, but still displays 193 grams on the scale. So it's less heavy than what we could expect.

The handling comfort proposed by the Redmi Note 10 Pro is neat and appreciable provided you are not allergic to large formats.Without overflowing with refinement, the smartphone masters its finishes so that the plastic chassis and the two glass faces cause no discomfort.

In addition, despite a very classic front face where the flat screen is pierced with a centered and framed punch of clearly visible borders, especially at the level of the chin, the Redmi Note 10 Pro gives off a certain elegance with reflections skillfully worked to bepretty without being flashy. The anthracite gray of our version can thus turn into the blue guest depending on the way in which we hold it.It’s frankly successful.

On the back, there is also an imposing rectangular photo module in the vertical direction. The one is made up of two floors so to speak. The wide base on which the flash is found in fact surmounted by a finer block where the four sensors are housed, the main being highlighted by its reflective framework.

I will let you appreciate this integration or not, but I must tell you that this module is very protuberant and therefore makes that the Redmi note 10 pro really wobbly if you put it flat on a table - personally, I rarely Istruggle to properly place the probe for screen measurements only on this model.

What to say otherwise? The top and bottom slices are very flattened and each house a speaker for a real stereo sound. On the top, there is also a jack while the USB-C port is obviously below.

All the physical buttons are on the right and you have to stretch your thumb a little to be able to mount the volume. The start -up key also serves as a fingerprint reader.

The splash resistance is guaranteed by IP53 certification while the front side benefits from Gorilla Glass 5 protection.

A beautiful and large 120 Hz screen

A great power implies large responsibilities and a large smartphone implies a large screen. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro thus has a substantial slab of 6.67 inches. The Amoled display and the 120 Hz cooling rate allow you to benefit very comfortably from perfect contrast and a very appreciable fluidity on a daily basis.

That's not all.Maximum brightness is also very good while reaching the 654 cd/m², it is not at the level of the most premium OLED tiles, but it is really much enough for you to use your phone without difficulty in very environmentsenlightened.

Test du Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro : la solide référence à 300 euros

Starting from this postulate, the screen of the Redmi Note 10 Pro is already very good for this price range, but its qualities do not stop there. After drawing our probe and the Calman Portrait Displays software, we measure colorimetric spaces SRGB and DCI-P3 very well covered in saturated mode.By default, the phone is set to the auto mode which adjusts the colorimetry to the ambient brightness.

In this configuration, the 194 % SRGB and the DCI-P3-larger and difficult to manage-at 130 %.To put it differently, for a smartphone at this price, the Redmi Note 10 Pro is very good to offer a wide palette of colors to the user's eyes, which is always nice for films and series.

But do these colors approach reality?Well, the answer tends to the yes.For this data, we measure the Middle Delta E on the DCI-P3 and we believe that it is good when it revolves around 3.However, on the Redmi Note 10 Pro, this Middle Delta E on the DCI-P3 is 3.87.

In saturated mode, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro has a 3.87 average delta on the DCI-P3 // Source: Frandroid

It is not bad at all, because it must be remembered that our measures are carried out in the saturated mode which promotes the intensity of the colors on their fidelity.Green is in passing the main weak point of the slab.

However, a dominant of blue is observed with a temperature at 7300 k when the ideal is 6,500 k.This trend is however well attenuated in standard or car mode.

MIUI: Personalizations and frustrations

Android 11 and the well -known interface MIUI 12 are in the maneuvers here, exactly as on the Redmi Note 10 Classic.Unsurprisingly, these are the same comments that we will make here.

Miui 12 offers a software experience very rich in customizations (dark fashion, choice of contrast colors, activation or not of the drawer, size of icons, etc.) and even pays the luxury of offering, to the choice of the user, a center ofNotifications separated from the shortcut panel and very freely inspired by what is done on iOS.We can be a little confused at first, but we get used to it quickly!

The whole is rather fluid, but we can regret that the settings menu is still a little clutter for the neophyte accustomed to interfaces closer to Google's vision on Android.Xiaomi does not sulk the Mountain View firm, quite the contrary: Google telephone and Google messages are available by default.

More generally, a more advanced treatment on the translation of the options is felt. The activation of gesture navigation is hidden in the "System Navigation" menu, which is more intuitive than "full screen display" where it was on previous devices of the brand.Alas, all the faults have not yet been corrected. In developer options, a function "Do not lift the [sic]" screen makes teeth with its acute unwelcome accent.

The most annoying element that said remains again and again the pseudo antivirus which analyzes the downloaded applications, even when they come from the play store and thus take advantage of it to display advertising.Admittedly, we can delete this, but it is very frustrating every time.

Another small point to note: the presence of a number of preinstalled third -party applications: Amazon, Facebook, Tiktok, Ebay, Booking or LinkedIn.

In return, the phone takes advantage of the latest security patch available when we write this test and also enjoys SVOD content in HD quality thanks to Widevine L1 - the highest level of safety from DRM de Google on Android.

The stereo sound that is happy

The two stereo speakers of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro do a very good job to provide quality and powerful sound.Without being really indicated to replace a speaker, the smartphone offers good spatialization of the songs listened to.In addition, even by pushing the volume thoroughly, it effectively avoids saturation.

However, if the mediums are very well managed and the trebles remain good, the most serious tones lack a little energy.Xiaomi highlights a hi-res audio certification, even on wireless listening, but remember that you can enjoy a wired helmet on this Redmi Note 10 Pro.

Effective in the photo

Four photo sensors.Four more.A habit lately in Xiaomi. However, there is only one and only real star in the rear module: the main 108 megapixel sensor (f/1.9).

This one is accompanied by three companions: an ultra-angle of 8 megapixels with a field of vision of 118 degrees (f/2.2), a 5 megapixel sensor for the macro mode (f/2.4)and a last of 2 megapixels for depth management (f/2.4).

By day, the classic photos taken with the main sensor - and obtained after fusion of pixels - are well lit and display colors that are pleasantly jumping to the eyes.We thus observe a slight saturation not respecting quite the reality.

For night photos, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro succeeds in capturing a good dose of light to effectively transcribe the atmosphere of the immortalized scenes. However, this smartphone remains positioned on the price segment around 300 euros and, as such, it does not get rid of the usual small defects in this price range.

Namely: a slight blur and noise that appears quite clearly when you zoom in the image. It's nothing very bad: the photos in low light remain effective, they just don't come out of the ordinary.

In addition, the night mode is quite interesting to analyze in the sense that, at first glance, we do not necessarily realize what it brings. You have to take the time to walk the eye on the shot to notice the differences. This option leads to the most obscure areas, observe the lower right corner on the scene below. On the other hand, at the level of the sky, one could almost believe that it is the normal image where the night mode is activated.

In short, this function can be relevant depending on the situation, but it remains quite subtle in its treatment of the photo.

The 108 megapixel mode on the Redmi Note 10 Pro is not always relevant. In the example below, for example, it hardly brings more clarity than the classic shooting despite the good light conditions.

Conversely, on the signaling panel below, we can see that the photo of 108 megapixels preserves many more details and thus even allows to read what is written black on white. We really touch it to detail. The interest of this function will really depend on the uses of each and will vary greatly according to the way in which the scene is exposed, elements photographed and obviously the distance between the phone and the subject.

The Ultra Grand Angle displays a much lower level of details than on classic shots, but the images thus produced remain quite pleasant to watch day-less the night when the degradation is marked.

The main concern for the ultra big angle is not to find the right formula to dispel the distortion effect on the edges of the photo.

The Portrait of the Redmi Note mode could be a little more precise in its delimitation between the blurred background and the net subject, but it generally succeeds in highlighting the person photographed.Be careful, it easily falls into the trap of the overexposed background.

Macro mode, for its part, is doing with honors. He succeeds in preserving beautiful colors and a satisfactory level of details. However, dedicating a sensor specially to this function remains superfluous.

You can get beautiful macro photos using the ultra-angle of a smartphone. The Macro sensor remains a more relevant marketing argument than that of concrete use by a user.

On the other side of the smartphone, the front sensor of the Redmi Note 10 Pro benefits from a definition of 16 megapixels. The selfies he offers are quite classic and do the job to properly preserve the details on the face, but too easily overexpose the background and lack sharpness in low light.

Finally, with regard to video, the smartphone knows how to film up to 4K at 30 fps or 1080p in 60 fps.

A little too unstable on Fortnite

It is a Snapdragon 732g found in the Redmi Note 10 Pro.The Qualcomm chip is associated with 6 or 8 GB of RAM depending on the chosen version. In use, I was treated to a few rare slowdowns which do not seem very disturbing, the overall experience being very fluid.

The Redmi logo on the back of the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro // Source: Arnaud Gelineau - Frandroid

More frustrating, the Fortnite game lacks stability. On this smartphone, the title of Epic Games can go up to the average level on the graphics in 30 FPS.However, the number of images per second falls in a fairly visible way as soon as you embark on a well -lived action (agitated camera movements, hand -to -hand combat, vehicle driving at full speed, jumping bus jumping ...)).I even got 8/9 fps for two long seconds.

On a game easier to manage like Call of Duty Mobile, you can enjoy a more pleasant experience: the maximum frequency can be set to "Max".Be careful, that said, it will automatically go down on the "very high" mode if you push the graphics to the maximum - "very high".

As we publish this paper, the Redmi Note 10 Pro does not work on 3DMARK or GFXBENCH.Xiaomi seems to have forgotten to remove test restrictions on these benchmarks.

The right cocktail on autonomy

With a big battery of 5020 mAh, the Redmi Note 10 Pro does not throw the stigma over its line renowned for the autonomy of its devices. With this new offspring, this family of smartphones can still proudly brandish endurance in standard bearer.

With classical use, you will keep very easily for two full days, while you have to bet on the day and a half in more intensive use (video games, big consumption of videos, taking photos and videos ...).

The right score recorded by the Redmi Note 10 Pro on our personalized test protocol, aim, confirms our statements.By holding 14 hours and 19 minutes on billiards, this smartphone deserves the qualifier "Endurant".Another example: on the gourmet play Fortnite, a part of 20 minutes generally consumes 6 % of energy, a sign of good autonomy.

That's not all, le smartphone est livré avec un chargeur rapide de 33 W fort pratique.Despite the large battery capacity, we go from 10 to 66 % battery in 30 minutes. It will take a very small more than half an additional hour to go to the 100 %.

The wireless load is not there.

No 5G for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, but of the NFC

No problem is to report on 4G: the Redmi Note 10 Pro has always captured the Orange network in the Paris region. All French frequency bands are compatible.Note however that 5G is not there here, it is however a point on which a model which is called "pro" could have distinguished itself from the classic version. But for that, you will have to turn to the Redmi Note 10 5G.

To go further which is the best mobile operator: Bouygues, Free, Orange or SFR?

On the other hand, the Redmi Note 10 Pro is right to NFC for mobile payments, which is not the case with the Redmi Note 10 Classic 10.Also be aware that you can use two SIMs and a microSD.

For calls, your interlocutor will hear the noises around you when you are in a noisy environment.Fortunately, it will never cover your words, but your voice will still be a little altered.Positive point: the microphone of the Redmi note 10 pro is cut perfectly as soon as you stop talking. Finally, geolocation has always been precise.
