Setted as a clock, Xiaomi takes advantage of the fall again to deliver the "T" versions of its flagship smartphones of the year. Thus, after the Xiaomi Mi 11 and its ultra high -end variant, the Xiaomi Mi 11 Ultra, the Chinese firm returns with the Xiaomi 11T and Xiaomi 11t Pro, two smartphones which inaugurate a new era for the brand by getting rid of once forall of the suffix "Mi", but also two extremely interesting devices on paper compared to their prices.

Here, we look at the highest range of them, the Xiaomi 11t Pro.It offers large arguments like a 120 Hz screen and an impressive quick recharge at… 120W.Is it as convincing as the Xiaomi Mi 11 of the start of the year?Answer !

Design, screen and audio

With the 11t Pro, Xiaomi does not reinvent the recipe. There is a device in the right line of the Xiaomi Mi 11 of the start of the year, or the last Redmi Note 10 Pro.The device is rather imposing, and quite heavy, with 204 grams on the scale. It is clear to users who love large smartphones, with rather generous dimensions and a very angular appearance. It is quite thick (8.8 mm) and really very wide, with 76.9 mm.By way of comparison, it is 2.3 mm more than the MI 11 and MI 11 Ultra, all the same. The grip is not very comfortable in the end.It is clearly a smartphone that will be used with two hands.

Impressive smartphone requires, there is still a large 6.67 -inch AMOLED slab at the front, covered with Gorilla Glass Victus glass. This screen for the Full HD+ definition is simply excellent: it offers a 120 Hz refresh rate, supports Dolby Vision and offers controlled colorimetry and excellent viewing angles. This slab is also very bright, and perfectly readable even in full sun.At the top of it, there is a punch that welcomes the front camera. The whole is perfectly integrated, even if we still regret the thickness of the screen borders, especially on the low edge.Crop on this would have allowed the smartphone to be a little less imposing in use.

Test Xiaomi 11T Pro, ne vous fiez pas aux apparences

At the back, there is a photo block, rather imposing too, which takes the form of a rectangle, placed on a shiny polycarbonate back.In our humble opinion, this plastic aspect gives the Xiaomi 11t Pro an appearance much less successful than that of the Xiaomi Mi 11.The coating takes a lot of fingerprints and, to the touch, you have the impression of holding an entry -level smartphone.Note that there are other colors, including blue and white, which may be more successful. Finally, the phone only benefits from an IP53 certification against splashes, and no real IP68 sealing.Shame.

As for the slices, they are formed of aluminum. All buttons are placed on the right edge. This is there that we find the fingerprint sensor, integrated into the unlock button. In use, it was particularly reactive and effective. We will find two speakers, placed respectively on the lower and upper edge, allowing the smartphone to offer a real powerful and clear stereo sound. Finally, the lower edge units a USB-C port for recharging and the SIM card slot.

Performances, autonomy and software

If the smartphone is imposing, it is also because inside, it opposes it.The Xiaomi 11t Pro is indeed provided with a Snapdragon 888 chip from Qualcomm. This SOC, which we have seen on many premium smartphones this year, is really tough, and the uses that will kneel it are not yet really available. Here, the Snapdragon 888 is coupled with 8 GB of RAM LPDDR5.

In terms of use, so we have much to blame this Xiaomi 11t Pro.We were able to launch several mobile games with the graphics thoroughly without the smartphone showing the slightest sign of slowdown.By adding the 120 Hz refreshment rate of its screen and the various animations of Miui 12, we end up with an ultra-reactive smartphone on a daily basis, reacting to the finger and the eye without ever undergoing the slightest slowdown. In use, it is a real pleasure.Obviously, we also take advantage of 5G connectivity.

On the autonomy side, the Xiaomi 11t Pro is doing well, but we could have expected better when we see that the smartphone is equipped with an imposing 5,000 mAh battery and that it has dimensionsrather generous. The presence of a 120 Hz screen, a powerful and fairly greedy chip as well as 5G (which we did not use during this test) logically impact the result. We will therefore hold a full day without too much problem, but not much more.Fortunately, this smartphone has an unstoppable argument: an incredibly fast wired recharge at… 120W.We tested, and it is indeed stunning;Allow less than 20 minutes to fully recharge the Xiaomi 11t Pro with the charger provided in the box.On the other hand, it will be necessary to be satisfied with it, since the smartphone does not offer wireless charging.

Finally, on the side of the software experience, we find Miui 12.5.10 (at least on our test version), the last iteration of the manufacturer's software overlay. To find out more about it, we invite you to go to our grip of Miui 12.In a few lines: the place is made to animations of all kinds, with a spectacular side, but also to the arrival of a whole new dark mode, and new parameters of protection of privacy, previously one of the pointsblack blacks.

The interface in itself made us think a lot of iOS (special mention for the control of the control center, located in the same place as at Apple).Xiaomi has well refined its interface, and despite the similarities with a certain lomed OS, MIUI 12 offers a clearly pleasant experience, with bore options which should suit a very large majority of users.

Photo and video

In terms of photo, the Xiaomi 11t Pro will really offer you for your money. At the back, it has a rather muscular paraphernalia including three optics. We first find a main DHM2 E 108 MP sensor of a size of 1/1.30.7µm.In fact, it is simply the same sensor that we find within the Galaxy S21 Ultra in Samsung, one of the best photophone on the market. As on the flagship of Samsung, the Xiaomi 11t Pro therefore takes advantage of the Pixel Binning 9-in-1 in order to get out of the clichés of 12 MP at output, and, as on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, the results are simply excellent, with breathtaking precision and beautiful contrasts. The algorithms used are however different, and Xiaomi put more on a more neutral rendering than Samsung in terms of colors.

The Xiaomi 11t Pro also offers an ultra-angle of 8 Mp (f/2.2) Offering a 120 ° vision angle. In terms of colors, it produces clichés consistent with what the main big angle offers. On the other hand, with its low number of megapixels, this sensor can sometimes capture unpreciate shots and is not particularly good as soon as the light is missing. Finally, there is also a 5 MP macro sensor (f/2.4) who fulfills his duty to perfection ... even if he will be limited to very precise use.

Finally, at the front, we take advantage of a 16 MP selfie sensor which is generally satisfactory, coupled with Xiaomi algorithms. The whole takes advantage of different rather sympathetic creative modes, such as a function allowing to modify the appearance of the sky on a photo, a vlog mode or even different filters in video or in photo. In addition, in video, the Xiaomi 11t Pro is frankly satisfactory since it is capable of filming in 8K or 60 I/S (but not both at the same time) with functions rather well found like the audio zoom, theMonitoring of objects or the possibility of making films in macro.
