For some iOS and Android users, it is soon the end of WhatsApp.After threatening internet users with blackout who would not accept its new general conditions of use (then finally changed itself), the Facebook platform this time formalizes another evolution of its application, namely the change in the minimum configurationnecessary for its management.

Concretely, from November 1, 2021, WhatsApp will no longer work on mobile devices running Android 4.0.4 and iOS 9.3.6.Too old to follow changes in the mobile application, these operating systems respectively released in 2011 and 2015 therefore have only a few months of respite before them.

What are the smartphones concerned?

Many smartphones are affected by this development of WhatsApp.In the apple, we can already quote the iPhone SE, 6s and 6s plus.At Android, the Galaxy S2 and S3 ranges will also be impacted. However, that does not mean that there is no solution. On the Apple side for example, the iPhone SE and 6S are indeed compatible with the iOS 14 updates (and the one to come concerning iOS 15).For Android phones too, just install an update 4.1 or later.Obviously, not all models will be able to benefit. The only option in this case, invest in a more recent phone, or mourn whatsapp.

Sorry but I am not sure I understood ... I have an iPhone SE so supposed to be incompatible with the future update, but I read: “On the side of Apple for example, the iPhone SE and 6s are indeedCompatible with iOS 14 ”updates updating with recent iOS versions would always be compatible?

But in this case it is the bone that defines compatibility, not the phone ....Qqun to light my lantern?
