The Cupertino company has indeed announced that it will grant the general public “who feels capable of doing so” the possibility of repairing defective parts. Initially, the program will concern 200 spare parts such as screens, batteries or even cameras for the iPhone 12 and iPhone 13, then soon its Macs equipped with M1 chips.
While there are still unknowns, especially on the price of the parts that will be available, this option is a step in the right direction. Until now, this home repair was encouraged by manufacturers such as Fairphone or in shared spaces such as the Repair café in Vern-sur-Seiche (Ille-et-Vilaine)
