A few months ago, Volkswagen unveiled its new Taigo turn, a coupe SUV that was not completely unknown to us at the time. And for good reason, it is a very close cousin of the Nius, which has already been sold in Latin America for some time. The two therefore display a very similar style, also inspired by the lines of the T-Cross, already present in the French range of the German manufacturer. A sort of cut version of the latter, this newcomer to the range nevertheless displays some differences, in particular at the level of the front face, which then benefits from a new design, in order to avoid the impression of copying and pasting. Measuring 15 centimeters longer than the T-Cross, with a total length of 4.26 meters, this Taigo also wants to pamper its occupants, with a beautiful interior space as well as a trunk whose volume varies between 385 and 455 liters thanks to its sliding rear seat. The presentation remains similar to its cousin, with its 6.5-inch touch screen.

Now let's take a look at what's under the hood of the SUV, which completely ignores diesel. And for good reason, customers will therefore only have the choice between petrol engines, with the 1.0 liter TSI available in 95 and 110 horsepower with a manual gearbox or DSG as well as the 1.5 liter TSI developing the whopping 150 horsepower. No trace of hybridization in this range, not even a 48-volt system, which seems rather surprising, when the brand precisely wishes to develop its electrified range. Note that this Volkswagen Taigo is based on the MQB A0 platform of the new Skoda Fabia and other Seat Ibiza.
