While Didier Raoult no longer holds his position at the Institut hospital-universitaire en maladies infectifs (IHU) in Marseille (Bouches-du-Rhône), he has in no way lost his sense of distribution. On Wednesday 9 September, the professor was the guest of the "19 / 20" of France 3 Provence / Alpes, presented by Olivier Gerbi. The journalist questioned his guest about the Covid-19 epidemic and the current political situation.
The Professor was annoyed by a first question, concerning a sentence that had been pronounced by the President of the Republic, Emmanuel Macron, last week. The head of state was on a trip to Marseille, and claimed that the scientist "may have created phenomena" of rejection of the vaccine against Covid-19 through "his media word".
The professor goes up to the window: "Sir, you're twisted!" replied Raoult, somewhat annoyed. "the President began by saying that he had esteem for my scientific work, that he valued my work, and now you're twisted, which means that you do as usual and we'll stop right now.
"as usual, journalists, you pull the little tip you're interested in trying to throw fuel on the fire," continues Didier Raoult. "once again, you just have to say and listen to what I have to say to know what I have to say. So I'm not playing this game. If you have a smart question for me about science, I'm willing to answer it. I'm not interested in your gossip."

Professor Raoult is offended: "wait, it is not for me to decide the vaccination policy. Are you going to let me speak and answer, yes or no?" Deprived, Olivier Gerbi concludes: "thank you Professor Raoult for trying to answer certain questions".
