Well, I will not sell dreams of people, there is not everythingthat when I come (laughs), but talking to people before the film is a form of live performance that I appreciate.We are together, we hear the laughter, the "Oh!""," Ah!"Spectators ... it's a bit of the meaning of my life.Precisely, how did you become an actor when being young, you wanted to be captain? How did I fall so low you mean (laughs)?It is true that it was very vague, at the beginning, when I said that I wanted to be comical.So I started by making small hoaxes in provincial radios and then, in summer, I was a standardist at RTL and I announced the traffic info to the listeners.I started with what was within my reach, that is to say not much.In show, it's the same, I started by putting 20 or 30 chairs on a small scene that was not even one, at the corner of a street ... And then, I crossed the stages little by little.But it is sure that when I said to my parents, at 20, that I wanted to do Olympia, it threw a cold ... What does your film, "irreducible" say? I play Vincent Peltier, a civil servantLimoges waters and forests which undergoes a reform from all at the top, which comes to reorganize services, as they say.Basically, it's outside!He then decides to go see his inspector, in Bercy, and said to him: "I stay, I am in my service."As he wants to play con, she matt it in the worst corners, to Greenland, to protect researchers from a scientific base against white bear attacks ... You have chosen to adapt the Italian film" Quo Vado», Who had had an immense success in 2016… I found this film formidable, extremely well constructed in his frame, which I kept.But between Italy of 2016 and France in 2022, there is a gap, a way of approaching humor that is different.We always write in a context and we had to take it into account when I adapted the film.What have you brought in your adaptation? As in the Italian version, we always start from the downgrading, this terrible feeling experienced by millions of people who find themselves lost in their daily lives.And then, I slipped small topical things like diversity, the blended family, the ecological issues, the "Me Too" movement, the migrants, but without giving lessons.The public does not need artists to think, he is mature and intelligent enough.On the other hand, my paw is to try to laugh at the spectators and in small touches, to make them think.If I get there, my challenge is filled.It's always complicated, but on this film, the public laughs a lot.What were your inspirations as a director? We wanted to make a real show, because today, with television, Internet, VOD, platforms, the public has almost everything at home.It is therefore necessary to put the bar very high to bring it to the cinema.So I was inspired by the great films shows by Philippe de Broca or Francis Weber, like "La Chèvre" or "Le Jaguar" and many spectators made the parallel with these great directors, it touched me a lot.This is your second achievement, how do you appreciate this work? I often say that I have the impression of being a little boy or a little girl in front of her doll house or her garage.I have my toys as I want, I create life and it becomes almost real.It fascinates me.Ultimately, I would like to stage friends and why not be more than behind the camera.How do you explain that French cinema, and in particular comedy, is still doing well? Without being too chauvinvy, we are one of the rare European countries to have a national cinema which still works as well, despite the crisis, and acomedy that works.We have a palette that goes from Philippe Lacheau to Olivier Nakache and Éric Toledano, via Olivier Baroux, Dany Boon, more social comedies like Louis-Julien Petit… There is a real diversity, a panel of fairly extraordinary comedies, whichexplains his success.Has the animation of the César ceremony in 2017 changed your career? Totally?.I had already made a few sketches and put a César in previous editions, but in 2017, it was a small turning point.There had also been this laughter, at the Oscar ceremony (the same year), which turned a lot on the internet.It's not huge, but people see you differently.They can just know your name, but there they see you, hear you and it becomes concrete in their eyes.What do you know about the Marne? I know that Châlons and Épernay are two very beautiful cities of shows.When you throw a one-man show there, it's a very good marker, because the public has a fair return of your job.And I am a crazy champagne, so I'm not uncomfortable!
