The study by the consulting firm Arthur D. Little of its 2021 edition of economic indicators on the Telecoms market. The Fédération Française des Télécoms has published several of its elements, including a comparison of the prices of the major Western countries.
One of the most striking facts concerns the prices of telecom services, which include box and mobile. As Arthur D. Little observes, “the prices of fixed and mobile telecom services in France remain among the lowest of the major Western countries.” In the study it has just published, the firm compared the prices of operators in major Western countries. It took into account operators with a market share of more than 10%, i.e. for France, Orange, Free, SFR and Bouygues Télécom.
Concerning the landline, France is the country where life is less expensive, with on average triple play offers that cost €22 per month, on the selection of the most competitive packages in terms of price. This study takes into account unlimited telephony at least on landlines, internet via ADSL or fibre, television included. The prices taken into account are those “excluding promotion”
On mobile, France is overtaken by Italy, a country where Free has also lowered prices. In France, the average price of a package is €13/month compared to €10/month in Italy, with an average price per GB of €0.19. To carry out his comparison Arthur D. Little took into account packages with unlimited calls, unlimited SMS/MMS, with at least 50GB of data. The offers studied are those without commitments and without telephone included.
