They will ultimately be less than the Dalmatians: while the post-apo series The 100 ended after 7 seasons, a sequel was hoped for, with a spin-off whose pilot had even already been integrated into the main show. The adventures of Clarke, Bellamy, Octavia and Raven therefore seem to be over. Unless there's a new twist like the series knows how to deliver...

In 2020, exclusively on SYFY in France, fans of The 100 could discover the last season of the post-teenage series (post-apocalyptic, but with teenagers), after 7 intense seasons, taking viewers by all states, and putting the characters at the end of their (sur) life. Now, the entire series is available on Netflix, and the 100 episodes of The 100 (well done) will ultimately not be joined by a new series...

However, the creator of The 100, Jason Rothenberg, had already planned everything, and not just a little: because perhaps without knowing it, you have already seen the pilot of the series which was to be called Second Dawn, and was set 97 years before the events of the main series. So right at the time of the nuclear apocalypse on Earth, which forced the survivors to take refuge in space. Because remember that this is the starting point of The 100: nearly a century after the disaster, delinquent teenagers are sent, like guinea pigs, to Earth to check if it is again habitable, while the space ark on which the survivors were able to take refuge is starting to be sorely lacking in resources...

The sun does not rise for the Second Dawn in The 100

A return to Earth that will go much worse than that of Thomas Pesquet. The 100, as they're called when in fact there are far fewer of them, will have to fight for survival at all times, regularly encountering new tribes, giving the show a vibe somewhere between Lost and The Walking Dead. The twists and turns are numerous, the deaths of important characters have nothing to envy to Game of Thrones, and the 7 seasons are watched with pleasure. Hence the idea, born even before the end of The 100, to develop this spin-off, Second Dawn (Seconde Aube en VF), and following the children of the prophet Cadogan, Callie and Reese, who we had been able to find out in episode 8 of season 7, named Anaconda. Very opposed, and even in open conflict, they were separated while the sect went to the bunker to survive, and we were inevitably eager to discover how Callie was going to do to survive, and to see her influence on this new world. In the end, nothing will...

Developed for 2 years, the spin-off The 100: Second Dawn has therefore been refused by The CW, historical broadcaster of The 100, even if it is rumored that Warner could possibly offer the series to other platforms. If the hope therefore still exists to see Second Dawn arrive elsewhere, there is also that of seeing Jason Rothenberg offer other stories in the universe of The 100. On the fan side, it is very clearly a spin-off on Lexa, commander of the Trikru in seasons 2 and 3 only, which would be the best proposal. In the meantime, The 100 is still a series of 7 seasons and 100 episodes, to be watched in full on Netflix, the platform that makes "TUDUM".
