The mayor, Jean-Luc Chailan, during the municipal council on December 16, asked for financial aid from Nîmes Métropole as well as from the interministerial fund for the prevention of delinquency in order to increase the number of cameras. "The town of Caveirac has been the subject of a request for prefectural authorization for the installation of 19 video surveillance cameras for public roads, 13 of which are already in operation", explains the city councilor. The additional new generation cameras will be affixed to the locations determined and validated by the gendarmerie. On the other hand, "the municipality wishes to work in close collaboration with the services of the Gendarmerie and Nîmes Métropole in order to benefit from their experience in this area" explains the mayor. Approved unanimously by the elected officials present. The Inter Urban Video Protection Center, with around twenty agents, provides permanent monitoring 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for the municipality.
