SFR customers may well castigate this method, nothing helps. The red-squared group continues to apply it. Once again, the operator has just discreetly increased the price of one of its telephone plans. This is the Red by SFR offer, which the operator has upgraded to 60 GB for “only 3 euros more per month”. As a novelty, SFR also boasts “the compatibility of this offer with 5G.” The approach is identical to previous increases SFR contacts its subscribers by email to warn them that they will “benefit from a new mobile offer”, without asking their opinion.

"To take advantage of it, you have nothing to do, we take care of everything" announces the email from SFR. This is what subscribers criticize their operator. In the absence of a contrary order from them, the activation of the offer takes effect from the next monthly invoice. To keep your usual package, you must make the request via a link in the email, before a deadline (April 2022 for the offer concerned). Of course, a large number of subscribers go through and find later that their plan has been increased, against their will.

Nothing is illegal in this commercial approach, but it raises questions with regard to the customer experience. SFR is not the only operator to act in this way, competitors such as Orange or Bouygues have not hesitated to take the same path recently.
