The ISA system will be considered reliable from the moment the vehicle is capable of correctly identifying 90 % of the speed limits on a test course of 400 to 500 km, composed of both highways, national roads andurban areas.

Is the Isa system binding?

No, it will always be possible for the driver to manually deactivate the ISA system after starting the vehicle.And even if he is maintained activated, he can ignore the sound warnings and force the accelerator.

What are the vehicles concerned?

This new security system will be implemented in two stages.It will first be the new models of cars, utilities and heavy goods vehicles that will be equipped with it from July 2022.Then, as of July 2024, all vehicles manufactured by manufacturers, including those sold before July 2022, will be equipped with it.On the other hand, the regulations do not provide for the installation of the speed limiter on vehicles already registered.
