What are your expectations ?

For this first step, of course, this is the beginning.There are improvements to make.Because we know it very well, in previous years, there have been generals of agriculture, breeding, justice, in several sectors of national life.

But, we see that the recommendations that come from these Fora are not very well assessed.We hope that with this exercise which begins and which is supported by the President of the Republic, will last, that there will be a very good follow -up.

What should be the priority areas to achieve economic growth?

If you master the problems of good governance, political problems which are the essential basis, the country can be developed.Because, you cannot for example develop a country when there is civil war, insecurity, when justice does not work very well.

Besides that, there are other levers for the development of the economy, in particular sectors such as agriculture and breeding.Because we all know that Burundi is an agricultural country.

With agricultural exports that start to fall, it is a very bad sign.This means that it is necessary to invest more so that indeed, agriculture can get up and allow that there are major agricultural exports.

Other driving areas of growth are mines.Indeed as the country is very rich in terms of minerals, it is a sector, once developed, would allow Burundi to increase its production.It is necessary to invest a lot in the training of executives, technicians and in governance.We must develop agricultural transformation, agro-industry, etc..So there is no reason for Burundi to be poor.

Why ?

Naturally, the country is rich.We only ask to exploit and manage these natural riches in an efficient manner.We must invest in human potential.If you combine all these sectors, it is sure that the country will start to approach other emerging countries.

It is not a desert country.We have Lake Tanganyika, water sources in the hills, it is great potential that can allow the country to develop.

So tourism can also be developed?

Absolutely with Lake Tanganyika, you can do ecotourism.Forests, circuits, roads, there are a lot to do at this level.If you have good governance, security, you can do ecotourism.There is no reason that Burundi does not emerge.

There are many countries around us for which we have more naturally.But, it is still necessary to master governance.

What about trade development?

If you look at East Africa and in the middle of Central Africa, we are in the middle.So a strategic position.We are next to Lake Tanganyika.Burundi can become a crossroads for all countries.I remember in time, there were African regional projects to pass a railway that goes from north to south via Burundi.But, you have to know how to take advantage of this position.
