After several weeks of testing, our readers take stock of their experience with the Oppo A54 5G smartphone. What is the terminal worth? Can it compete with premium models two to three times more expensive? What are its strengths and those to improve? Our budding testers tell you everything.
In hand, the phone is heavy and thick, but rather compact. The tested model has a beautiful black color with grayish reflections. At the bottom of the screen, there is a jack, a USB-C port as well as a speaker. On the sides are distributed the buttons for the volume, the SIM card housing (capable of accommodating 2 nano sim and a microSD card), as well as the unlock button which also acts as a fingerprint sensor. The chin on the phone and the frontal camera punch (top left) are very prominent. With its Full HD+ resolution and a refresh frequency of up to 90 Hz, the slab displays very detailed and fluid images.

Regarding autonomy, the telephone loses only 4 % battery when it is at rest during the night.Despite a fairly advanced use during the day, it is possible to recharge it approximately every 2 days. With the 10 W charger supplied, it takes about 2 h 20 min to recharge the device from 0 to 100 %.We must not forget that this is a 5G phone.Contrary to what one might think, its compatibility with the new generation of mobile network does not impact excessively autonomy!Provided that the scene is well lit, the quality of the photo is there. As soon as a difficulty sets in, she takes a hit.The result remains correct for normal use.Selfies, on the other hand, stand out strangely with a kind of white sail on the image ... The Oppo A54 5G is a quality product capable of agreeing to the majority of users.
With classic packaging, the phone is installed in a small bag with the main accessories.I appreciated that the device is delivered original with a protective film as well as a silicone shell (a little difficult to install). There are also headphones and a charger with his cable. The smartphone is light and offers excellent grip. The great surprise was to find a jack (thank you Oppo!).Nothing revolutionary in terms of design, it's a pretty classic laptop.I like the color and the plastic finish of the back, even if the latter retains too much fingerprints. The perceived quality is good, the materials and the different buttons are pleasant to the touch and seem solid and well finished.

Regarding autonomy in intensive use, I was able to use the laptop a good day and a half in energy saving mode. And in high performance mode, the device holds a good day without having to be recharged.Small flat concerning the recharge which is a little long: a little more than 2 hours to go from 0 to 100 %.During my test, I unfortunately could not capture the 5G network, while I managed to have it on my personal laptop. It works very well on the 4G+ network. The photo part turns out to be fairly well. The shots in broad daylight and in zoom mode are correct, but the night mode is a bit fair.Selfies are of good quality. For me, the Oppo A54 5G is a good smartphone. In addition to a sleek design, it is easy to use and offers good autonomy. The photo part is more than enough provided you are not too demanding on this point. The product enjoys excellent value for money.
Without getting into the technical characteristics, the Oppo A54 5G is a good entry -level smartphone. The packaging is classic and includes a charger, a USB-C cable, as well as the documentation and a silicone protective shell. For this price range, the device has a classic design in the same line as that of its competitors. However, I appreciated the color effects.Size and weight comply with current criteria.Good surprise when it comes to the screen.Without going so far as to compete with the amoled, it is good and very pleasant to use thanks in particular to the refresh rate of 90 Hz.The Coloros 11 interface is very close to that of Android 11 with customization additions. The device provides excellent autonomy with a battery capable of lasting more than a day in intensive use.The load is slow, but that does not really pose a problem when you recharge the device completely at night.Applications run without problem.

The few tested video games work provided you make some concessions on the graphics by putting them at "minimum".No heating observed. For the network part, the many wifi tests (WiFi 5) that I carried out showed good stability and reception quality. For the 4G/5G part, the network hook is also very good.During a trip to Paris, he had a little trouble returning in 5g after a 4G passage. The flow tests are rather average: between 20 and 130 Mbit/s in 4G and between 5 and 400 Mbit/s in 5G.The photos are correct outdoors with colors more intense than those of an iPhone XS.Indoors, it becomes more complicated with dark photos and a "night" mode that does not seem to bring a quality gain.Regarding the quality/price ratio, competition is fierce in this category. For the same price, there are smartphones with an AMOLED screen, a faster load and a better processor.
The phone comes with a 10 W charger, a USB-C cable, a plastic shell, a SIM card extractor and documentation.I felt a "waouh !!!" effectby leaving the phone from its protection.I find it magnificent with an impeccable manufacturing quality! The model that I received "Black Twilight" has a shiny plastic back with a nice gray degraded effect, but a little sensitive to fingerprints. With its rounded edges, the terminal holds well in hand.Clocked at 90 Hz, its Full HD+ screen turns out to be very fluid, but energy -consuming.The Coloros 11 interface is fully customizable and very fluid. The 16 Mpx front camera (punch type) occupies a lot of space on the screen. At the rear, the device has 4 photo sensors, the best of which is that of 48 Mpx.With the latter, the photos are successful as long as we don't zoom too much. The video camera is average and we do not exceed 1080 pixels and 30 images per second.

The phone can accommodate two Nano SIM cards and a microSD card. Its storage space is 64 GB and it has 4 GB of RAM.I regret that he does not deliver stereo sound.Autonomy is a day and a half.On the other hand, I had to wait almost 3 hours for the phone to be fully loaded. In use, the terminal perfectly hooks the 5G network. In conclusion, would I recommend this Oppo A54 5G phone?Despite a very successful design, a very beautiful screen, a successful interface, I think that we can find at the same price smartphones with much better technical characteristics.
For our four readers, this Oppo A54 5G is a good smartphone enjoying qualities worthy of a premium model. The impeccable finish with the effects of gradients on the back, the magnificent screen, the customizable coloros 11 interface, or the autonomy of a day and a half in intensive use was unanimous in our testers of the day.Ditto for the very appreciated presence of a Jack audio socket and the accommodation to accommodate 2 Nano SIM cards and a microSD.With the exception of Jordan who failed to connect in 5G, all of them also praised the network capacity of the smartphone.Reviews on the photo part are slightly more mixed. All our readers agree that the device takes excellent photos in good light conditions, but that these tend to degrade in the darkness. It is a full box for Benjamin and Jordan who believe that the Oppo A54 5G has an excellent value for money.A assessment which turns out to be very positive for our four readers. There is no doubt that the Oppo A54 5G will be one of the next best-sellers of the 5G smartphones.
