Selectra.info is published by Selectra. Selectra.info offers various information sections on house contracts and comparisons. The purpose of this section is to specify its operation in a spirit of transparency for the consumer and in compliance with the legislation in force.
At Selectra, we believe that consumer trust is key and that there can be no trust unless there is transparency.
Our content is written by experts from the best training. The Selectra comparator complies with the obligations specified by Decree No. 2016-505 of April 22, 2016 relating to information obligations on online comparison sites, Decree No. 2017-1434 of September 29, 2017 relating to information obligations operators of digital platforms and Decree No. 2017-1436 of September 29, 2017 relating to information obligations relating to online consumer reviews, and therefore in particular Articles D111-7 and D111-11 of the Consumer Code taken as the application of article L111-7 of the same code.
In general, we aim to reference on our sites all the offers on the markets in which we operate. With regard to insurance and banking services, SELECTRA, SARL registered with the RCS of Paris under number 499 807 147, and domiciled at 66 rue Sébastien Mercier, 75015 Paris, is referenced with ORIAS, the control of comparators and brokers in insurance or banking services (our registration number: 16000020). Selectra has the status of Insurance Agent (MA) and Non-Exclusive Agent for Banking Operations and Payment Services (MOBSP); granted by ORIAS, these statutes confirm that Selectra has the legal skills to help its customers choose and conclude an insurance or banking contract.
For the sake of clarity and transparency, we detail Selectra's “business model” below.
It is possible to subscribe to energy, telecom, insurance, financial and home automation offers via Selectra, from Selectra's partner suppliers. We are remunerated by the supplier partner for each contract taken out with this partner.
The service is therefore completely free for the customer.
NB: the Selectra service stops when the subscription is managed. Selectra can in no way be held responsible for disputes that may arise between the subscriber and its service provider in the context of their contractual relationship. The contact of the subscriber in case of questions or complaints during the life of the contract remains the customer service of the service provider.
Selectra offers two separate services for subscribing to partner offers:
NB: consumers can choose to contact us directly or request a call back. In addition, on certain pages, the site also offers links to subscribe to a partner's offer directly on the partner's website, or to subscribe to a partner's offer online on our website.
Selectra is a partner with several dozen suppliers. Selectra scrupulously selects its partners according to the quality of their offers, their seriousness and the ease of the subscription process. We want to direct consumers who trust Selectra towards offers that are suitable and that bring them satisfaction.

Selectra reserves the right to place a partner offer in first position in the rankings. In this case, the offer includes the mention “Announcement” in order to distinguish it from other offers. In addition, an advertising banner can be reserved for highlighting a partner supplier or an event (example: a "grouped energy purchase" banner on the home page).
No. Selectra has no capital link with the referenced professionals. 100% of the capital of Selectra is held by the 2 founders of the company, which guarantees our independence.
Selectra.info sometimes includes comparison pages, or, within pages, elements allowing you to compare the offers of different suppliers.
By default and unless otherwise specified:
It may happen, for the sake of simplicity for the consumer:
The discount percentage of the energy offers referenced and their prices are directly managed by the energy comparator of Selectra, and their update therefore follows the procedure for updating offers and prices specified on the methodology of the Selectra energy comparator below.
The other characteristics of the offers and the percentages and prices of the other types of offers are updated page by page. In general on all the pages, we have as a principle:
We remain responsive and you can contact us if you notice any inaccuracies or outdated data on our site.
Details of the components of the price of the offers are indicated below in the methodology of each comparator.
General case | “The Selectra comparator references all consumer offers offered by electricity suppliers and natural gas for individuals and professionals (power ≤ 36 kVA for electricity, annual reference consumption of less than 300 MWh for natural gas) whose tariff schedules are up to date, made public on supplier sites or sent at Selectra, and which are offered in the ENEDIS (ERDF) and GRDF service areas.” |
Special cases | |
Availability offers ; the distinction between “General public offers” and “Private offers” | |
"General public offer" (i.e. open to subscription to all consumers) | Referenced whether they are partner (i.e. available for subscription via Selectra) or non-partner (i.e. not available for subscription via Selectra). | < /tr>
“Private offer” (i.e. open to subscription for certain consumers only, or via a certain channel only) | Referenced at the discretion of Selectra only, and only if they are offered for sale via Selectra |
Service area | |
Enedis area (>95% of households) | Yes |
GRDF zone (>95% of gas consumers) | Yes | tr>
Strasbourg, Metz, Grenoble | Yes |
Other ELD | No | < /tr>
Corsica, Overseas | No |
Offers by type of audience | |
Individuals | Yes |
Small professionals (power ≤ 36 kVA for electricity, reference annual consumption ≤ 300 MWh for natural gas) | Yes |
Large professionals (power > 36 kVA for electricity, reference annual consumption > to 300 MWh for natural gas) | No, because the offers are “tailor-made” and only available on quotation (so there is no standard offer to reference) | tr>
Offers by degree of complexity | |
Electricity | |
Classic offers (i.e. with a subscription of 3, 6, 9, 12, 15, 18, 24, 30 or 36 kVA, and available as a Base tariff option or Peak hours & off-peak hours) | Yes |
EJP & Tempo | No, because these 2 tariff options are not open to competition and are no longer promoted by EDF (in the case of the EJP option, the option is no longer even available at subscription) |
Linky special offer (i.e. for example with subscription steps of 1 kVA, or with new pricing options (e.g. hours off-peak weekends, cheaper price per kWh during certain times of the year, etc.) | Currently: No, because technically the comparator cannot do it.In the future: We are planning a development to take these promotions into account. |
Natural gas | Offers with classic fare zones (up to 20 different fare zones) | Yes |
Offers with complex fare zones (> ; 20 tariff zones) | Currently: No, because technically the comparator cannot do it.In the future: We are planning a development to take into account account these promotions. |
Understand the price displayed by Selectra: as we detail in the “Annual budget” section, Selectra displays on the results page the estimated annual budget for the first year (find out more).
To make this price truly relevant to the consumer, here is the policy we follow when it comes to promotional offers, promotions & discounts.
Reference of the promotion on the comparator | Consideration of the promotion in the display of the price (annual budget ) | |
---|---|---|
General case | Yes, on the offer in question. Selectra can decide to communicate about the promotion directly on the offer snippet on the results page, or only on the offer presentation modal. | Yes |
Special cases | ||
Promotion liquidityPromotion not reflected directly on the customer's invoice (e.g. donation to an association ,: additional service normally paid for included free of charge, promotion credited to a loyalty card and not directly deductible from the energy bill, purchase voucher not directly deductible from the energy bill. | Yes< /td> | No (logically, since the promotion does not directly affect the energy bill, it is not taken into account in the calculation of the annual budget). | Conditionality of the promotionConditional promotion (ex: discount only if the customer does not exceed a certain consumption limit) | Yes | At the discretion of Selectra depending on our assessment of the criterion. Concretely, if we consider that the criterion makes the discount probable, we will take this into account in the price. On the other hand, if the criterion seems to us to make the discount improbable, we will not take it into account. In the latter case, we will clearly explain in the description of the offer that the discount has not been taken into account in the calculation. |
Lump sum discountEx: “10€ reduction on the 1st bill” | Yes | Yes |
Unlimited discount on the price of the subscription or kWh over timeEx: “5% reduction on the price of kWh excluding tax compared to regulated tariffs” | Yes | Yes |
Pricing schedule displayed by the supplier clearly not reflecting, according to Selectra, the reality of the pricing schedule that will really be applicable to the consumer during the first year.Ex:- a supplier who would take advantage of low prices on the wholesale market to display a very competitive price per kWh, but the price of which could subsequently increase very significantly due to this indexation;- an offer for which there would be reason to believe that the price could increase very significantly after a few months. td> | At Selectra's discretion: depending on what we believe is most in the interest of consumers, we can choose whether or not to list the offer in question and, if necessary, to include a disclaimer next to the offer. For example, for an offer indexed to the price of the wholesale markets and displaying a very low discount and for which we can think that this discount will not last, Selectra chooses to reference the offer (because it can be interesting for consumers wanting to benefit from a very low price for a few months), but accompanied by a red mention “Wholesale market indexing — For informed public → more info” to explain that you have to be vigilant because the price can increase from month to month. | |
Discount on the price of the subscription or kWh limited in timeDiscount of the type "x months of free subscription", "lower price of kWh during the first x month of subscription”, etc. | Yes | Currently: No because technically the comparator cannot do this. This means that it is the price WITHOUT the promotion that is displayedIn the future: We are planning a development to take these promotions into account |
Limited Time PromotionOffer available for a limited time only | Yes | Yes |
The comparator is updated each month according to the evolution of the prices of natural gas and electricity, more precisely respectively the 1st and 2nd of the month or the closest following working days for the offers for residential customers and the 3rd of the month or the next closest working day for offers for non-residential customers. If, on the day of the update, a supplier has not updated its price list, the offer is dereferenced from the comparator until the update occurs.
The price lists of the offers referenced on the comparator are displayed as provided by the supplier. However, Selectra reserves the right to delist an offer when the grid contains errors.
It is possible that the tariff zones of EDF and Engie (formerly GDF Suez) do not overlap exactly with the tariff zones of other gas suppliers. The question was put to EDF and Engie in this sense and we are awaiting an answer from them.
Rounding policy. Suppliers do not all communicate their prices with the same precision. For the price per kWh, some provide for example 5 digits after the decimal while others only provide 4 digits after the decimal. In the interests of fairness and consistency, Selectra applies the following policy when entering supplier rates:
On the results page, offers are always ranked from lowest priced first year budget to highest priced first year budget, based on consumption profile.
By using one of the filters located at the top left of the results page, the user has the possibility of displaying only certain offers (NB: they remain classified from the cheapest to the most expensive):
The Selectra online comparison application lists all offers from energy suppliers without distinguishing between partner and non-partner suppliers. In addition, partner offers are in no way favored by Selectra, the offers being ranked by default from the cheapest to the most expensive.
More and more consumers are subscribing to green electricity offers. However, subscribing to such a type of offer is not the guarantee of making a difference for the Planet, as we explained in a study published in 2018. Indeed, subscribing to an electricity offer means that the supplier undertakes to inject a quantity of green energy equal to the quantity of electricity consumed by the customer into the electricity grid. This equivalence is controlled by a system called "Guarantees of Origin" (GO) — More information on the Guarantees of Origin system.
The GO system is European. Basically, the supplier therefore undertakes that, up to the level of the customer's electricity consumption, an equivalent quantity of renewable electricity will be injected into the network somewhere in the territory of the European Union. In addition, suppliers often buy these GOs from hydraulic electricity producers whose means of production are well amortized, and the purchase of green electricity does not therefore make much difference for the planet.
Some providers therefore go further:
In an opinion published in December 2018, ADEME recommended that the public authorities define a normative reference system in order to improve transparency on the different types of green electricity offers and to distinguish between green electricity offers "standard" of "premium" electricity offers.
Selectra immediately decided, in January 2019, to sub-divide its “green electricity” filter in two in order to distinguish:
We are already considering other options to improve consumer information on green electricity offers and we will keep you informed of the follow-up that the public authorities will give to ADEME's recommendations. 2019.
On the results page, it is not possible to indicate an exact annual budget. Consequently, the prices indicated in €TTC/year for individuals and in €HT/year (excluding all taxes) for professionals correspond to the estimated budget for the first year calculated on the basis of:
For individuals, Selectra takes into account the prices excluding VAT as communicated by the suppliers, or, failing that, recalculates the prices excluding VAT of the offer from the grid including VAT communicated. By basing the calculations on prices excluding taxes, it is possible for us to take into account local taxes for electricity (TCFE), which vary according to the place of residence. For professionals, Selectra takes into account prices excluding tax such as that they are communicated by the suppliers.
The price actually paid by the consumer will depend on his actual energy consumption during the year, local taxes depending on his place of residence and any changes in prices excluding VAT and applicable taxes.
The prices including tax displayed include taxes on the following energy:
The transmission tariff contribution (CTA) invoiced is based on the fixed part of the transmission tariffs. In order to calculate these routing rates, we make the following assumptions.
The CTA actually paid by the consumer will depend on the fixed part of the transmission tariffs which is applicable to him according to his case.
On the results page, Selectra also communicates the difference (positive or negative) between the estimated annual budget for the first year for the offer in question and for the regulated sales prices.
The Selectra comparator lists all fixed internet offers and available mobile plans in metropolitan France for individuals. Offers meeting the following conditions are thus referenced:
Other offers that do not comply with all of the above conditions may also be referenced on the comparator (in particular internet offers marketed in white areas), but at our sole discretion.
Note:
The comparator is updated regularly, with different frequencies for each type of information.
NB: all the information on the offers is communicated for information purposes for the consumer and in no way engages the responsibility of Selectra. Before any subscription, consumers must consult the official conditions with the chosen operator.
“The basic offer” corresponds to the tariffs, services and conditions of an offer presented in the FIS, the tariff brochure and/or on the operator's website . The following information is excluded from the “basic offer”: promotions, list of TV channels, list of telephone destinations included and details of communication rates by country.
The basic offer is updated in the event of the publication of a new FIS, a new tariff brochure, or an identifiable change on the operator's website. FIS, tariff brochures and websites are verified:
The basic offer can also be updated in advance, if we detect a change in the FIS, tariff brochures and websites, or if the operator notifies us directly of a change. The validity date of the FIS or of the corresponding tariff brochure is specified on the detail page of each offer. In the absence of a FIS or tariff brochure, this date corresponds to the date on which the update was made.
When a referenced offer includes a promotion (price reduction, service offered, special series), the promotion is referenced on the comparator. The end date, duration, and price beyond the promotions are indicated when this information is available on the operator's website.
We check operators for current promotions on their websites, in their FIS and tariff brochures, according to the following criteria:
This information is specified in the detail pages of the offers on the comparator, provided that they are available on the operator's website or that the operator communicates them directly to us (in a suitable format).
As this information is subject to less frequent changes by operators, it is updated separately from the basic offer, according to the following criteria.
Selectra's online comparison application lists all offers from internet and mobile operators meeting the eligibility criteria indicated below, without distinction between providers partners and non-partners. In addition, the partners' offers are in no way favored by Selectra, the offers being classified according to the criteria indicated above.
On the results page, the offers are classified by default according to the monthly cost including tax of the subscription (with possible promotion), from the cheapest to the most expensive. This cost includes all the mandatory monthly fees to benefit from the subscription (including, where applicable, the rental of equipment such as the box), but does not include any other fees that may be requested at the time of subscription. In the event of a promotional rate, the classification is based on the reduced rate and not on the rate not including the promotion.
The prices and promotions displayed correspond to the profile of a consumer who:
The user can modify the ranking criteria.
The Selectra comparator provides a tool to test the eligibility of a home for the internet offers referenced on the comparator. This tool is based on information provided by SFR and Bouygues Telecom. The results page allows you to view the test result.
To carry out an eligibility test on the comparator, the Internet user must provide the address of the accommodation to be tested, and possibly the landline number of the accommodation. By launching the test, he accepts that the personal information entered will be communicated to SFR and/or Bouygues solely for the purpose of the test. The data entered is recorded by the comparator as part of the technical monitoring of the site and is not used for any other purpose without the explicit agreement of the Internet user.
When an eligibility test is performed on the comparator, the results page displays:
NB: if the address of the housing is not recognized or that the services of SFR and Bouygues Telecom are experiencing technical difficulties, the test results may be distorted. In some cases, an error message may appear. Eligibility and debit estimates are given for information only and must be confirmed at the time of subscription.
The Selectra comparator references offers from retail banks marketed in Metropolitan France. These bank offers are intended for individuals. All bank offers with at least national coverage are referenced. We have chosen not to present the regional offers of mutual banks. Only the prices of the antennas present in Ile de France are listed. This allows us to avoid an over-representation of certain banks with very similar offers.
Selectra strives to regularly increase the number of offers referenced in order to offer you the most exhaustive comparison possible.
If you feel that an offer is missing, you can contact our support department (contact-finance [at] selectra.info) to request an addition by providing us with the associated price list. The exhaustiveness of the comparison depends on the willingness of the banking establishments in the market to be compared.
The offer pages are updated in different ways:
NB: all the information on the offers is communicated for information purposes for the consumer and in no way engages the responsibility of Selectra. Before any subscription, users must consult the general conditions and the tariff schedules with the chosen banking institution.
On the results page, offers are ranked by default from the cheapest to the most expensive taking into account only the estimated bank charges (which does not include the possible welcome bonus). This amount includes all related costs to benefit from the offer such as, for example, account maintenance fees, monthly bank card fees, etc. If two offers have equivalent fees, the higher amount of the welcome bonus decides between them.
The user also has the choice of ranking the offers solely on the basis of the welcome bonus via a drop-down menu.
The user also has the option of using filters to display only certain offers:
The Selectra comparator displays estimated fees based on the user's profile. This profile is determined by the answers given to the form. These fees are a non-contractual estimate and the fees actually paid by the consumer depend on the use of their account.
The partner banks have the legal possibility of refusing the opening of an account to a user (for example certain banks refuse banking prohibitions). Thus, the Selectra comparator cannot be held responsible if a partner bank refuses to open an account for a user even if its offer appeared on the results page of the Selectra comparator.
By filling in the "Email address" field, this information will be recorded in a computerized file for the purpose of (1) sending you your comparison results by email, (2) if you have requested it, to subscribe to the Bons Plans newsletter.
If you provide us with this personal information, it is kept for up to three years after your last interaction with our services and is intended for the marketing department. The Selectra comparator references formulas from partner insurers. These home insurance formulas are intended for individuals and marketed in metropolitan France. The partner insurers of the Selectra home insurance comparator are Euroassurance, Luko, Selfassurance and Youassur.
Why are not all the insurers on the French market listed in the Selectra comparator?
The Selectra comparator strives to offer insurance formulas adapted to your profile and with precise pricing. To do this, Selectra must send the answers to the form corresponding to your accommodation to the insurers. This information is sent anonymously. The insurer is then able to send Selectra one or more formulas and one or more prices adapted to your profile.
Unlike our comparators of energy, internet and mobile plans which reference all the offers on the market, the comparator of home insurance formulas from Selectra therefore only references partner offers because it does not is not possible to do otherwise.
Selectra strives to regularly increase the number of partner insurers in order to offer you the most comprehensive comparison possible. The exhaustiveness of the comparison is therefore dependent on the willingness of insurers on the market to be compared.
The amounts of insurance premiums are updated automatically since they are sent directly by partner insurers. They are calculated on the basis of the information that the user communicates in the form and which is sent, anonymously, to the partner insurers.
The formula pages are updated annually unless an insurer notifies Selectra of a formula change (guarantees, deductibles, etc.). The amounts of insurance premiums on the formula pages are updated in real time and automatically since they are sent directly by partner insurers.
NB: all the information on the formulas is communicated for information purposes for the consumer and in no way engages the responsibility of Selectra. Before any subscription, users must consult the general conditions with the chosen insurer.
On the results page, the formulas are classified by default according to the amount of the monthly insurance premium, from the least expensive to the most expensive. This amount includes all the additional costs to benefit from the formula such as, for example, the administration costs.
The user has the option of modifying the formula classification criteria:
The user also has the option of using filters to display only certain formulas:
The Selectra comparator displays insurance formulas adapted to the user's profile according to the answers that the latter has provided in the form. The validity of the insurance formulas, as well as that of the premium amounts, are therefore conditioned by the veracity of the answers provided by the user.
Selectra's adviceWhen answering the questions on the form: make sure you do so as completely as possible and without omitting any information. Above all, do not lie (by minimizing the number of claims declared, for example): this would harm you. Indeed, the insurance contract may prove to be null and void. You would therefore not be covered in the event of a claim.
The insurance formula presented in the Selectra comparator may not be completely identical to the final formula offered by the partner insurer. This is particularly the case if:
Partner insurers have the legal possibility of refusing to insure a user. Thus, the Selectra comparator cannot be held responsible if a partner insurer refuses to insure a user even if this insurer appeared on the results page of the Selectra comparator.
By filling in the "Email address" and "Telephone number" fields, the information collected in this form will be saved in a computerized file for the purpose of (1) sending you by email your comparison results, (2) if you have asked to be contacted about your electricity and/or gas procedures, to contact you again by telephone to study with you the offers best suited to your consumption profile and (3 ), if you have requested it, to subscribe to the Bons Plans newsletter.
In order to offer you home insurance formulas adapted to your profile, and to associate a pricing, Selectra sends to the partner insurers your answers to the form corresponding to your accommodation. This information is sent anonymously.
For a given home insurance plan, when you click on “Subscribe online”, “Be called back for free” or “Receive a quote by email”, your personal information is then sent to the chosen partner insurer so that the latter can respond to your request. By clicking on one of these buttons, you expressly agree to the sending of this information to the partner insurer for the sole purpose of sending you a quote or allowing subscription to the selected insurance plan.
If you provide us with this personal information, it is kept for up to three years after your last interaction with our services and is intended for the marketing department. In accordance with the law "Informatique et Libertés", you can exercise your right of access to data concerning you and have them rectified by contacting: contact [at] selectra.info.
Comparison users can give their opinion on a supplier by going to the comparator page dedicated to this supplier. To submit a review, the user must certify that he is or has been a customer of this provider.
