LG continues its collaboration with Meridian, the English manufacturer of high-end HiFi, whose name is clearly indicated on the bar as on the surround speakers of this kit. LG seems to want this to be known, and rightly so, Meridian being a prestigious company in this sector. We therefore expect a high quality sound section on which the English engineers would have looked. Moreover, note to begin with that the bar reads FLAC Hi-Res files in 24/192 from a USB key.

The SP11RA oversees a range of a dozen references, which differ simply by the number of speakers they contain, ranging from 4 to 11 for the model that interests us here. Meridian work is included on all models from the number 7.

Test LG SP11RA : le haut de gamme du home cinema et de la musique dans une barre de son

We tried to learn more from LG about this association. Officially, Meridian provides its own sound processing technologies but is not specifically developing anything for LG at this stage. However, we had already noticed that LG models including Meridian improved generation after generation.

The SP11RA is the only bar that comes standard with its independent surround speakers. There is also the SPK8 wireless kit to add this type of speaker to some lower models in the range. Just be aware that the SPK8s are simpler speakers than the SP11RA set.
