2015 Infiniti Q70: Luxury throughout

Infiniti embarked on the development of new products. Dunombre, a Q70 sedan that adds a long-wheelbase version, goes on sale within a few months. The sedan itself received some upgrades for 2015.

Thus, the 3.7L V6 is now the only engine offered, producing 330 horsepower and 270 lb-ft of torque. It comes with a new seven-speed automatic transmission, while the 5.6L V8 is no longer available. A hybrid version is also added to the catalog, which has a 3.5 Let V6 with a 50 kW electric motor, for a combined power of 360 horsepower.

In terms of design, the Q70 is getting closer and closer to the style and model of the Q50, this highly successful sedan. At the front, for example, LED headlights have been installed as standard, while the fog lights and taillights also take advantage of this technology.

The regular and stretched versions of the 2015 Infiniti Q70 will feature the same trim levels. The basic finishes will be called Premium, while the higher level will be the Deluxe Touring and Technology version. Although the Premium trim is very complete, the Deluxe package adds elements such as intelligent cruise control, lane departure detection and blind spot monitoring and intervention systems.

As for the Q70 Sport, its seats have better support, its steering is more dynamic and its suspension is firmer.

The 10-speaker Bose audio system can enhance the trip with its surround sound, and the optional 360-degree camera system will make parking maneuvers much easier. In addition, the Q70L's rear legroom provides "business class" rather than "economy class" comfort, and the seats are heated.

Infiniti has yet to announce pricing for the 2015 Q70L, but it's been reported to be slightly more expensive than the equivalent regular-wheelbase V8 version offered last year. (Charles Renny)
