Are you tired of being harassed on the phone by stubborn canvassers, unwanted "friends", intrusive contacts? So use your mobile's blocking feature, which has been around on cellphones for a long time as 'Call Blocking' or 'Auto Rejection', but is less easy to find on a smartphone.

With an Android mobile, open the Contacts application and select the person to block. Then display the options by using the phone's Menu key or by tapping the icon illustrated by three vertical dots, or by tapping the word "More" (with newer versions, tap the pencil icon or Edit). By checking the “All calls to voicemail” box, each communication from this number will be automatically directed to voicemail. If you choose the “Add to Auto Reject List” option, all calls from this contact will be blocked immediately.

To ban several correspondents, create a new file that you will call for example "Rejected" and enter the numbers of the undesirables, then activate the options described above. You can also download a blocking app like Blacklist or Call Blocker.

With an iPhone , open the Contacts app, then choose the contact you want to block. In his file, press “Block this correspondent”. Warning: By activating this feature, your iPhone will reject phone calls, text messages and FaceTime calls from blocked contacts and also prevent them from leaving voicemails. You can also block a number that is not in your address book: display the Phone application's call list, then press the "i" icon to the right of its name. Scroll down the card and select “Block this correspondent”.
