Arcep has just launched a brand new version of its “My internet connection” website. You will be able to check if you are eligible for ADSL, VDSL, cable, optical fiber but also 4G/5G Fixed.

Are you eligible for fiber optics? With which operator? What is the best connection available to you? Arcep has just launched its new map of France dedicated to the internet, it is called: “My internet connection”.

A practical map to be well informed

It is thus possible to observe different levels of colors depending on the flow rates available per residential area. When you zoom in on a specific address, you can even find information about supported carriers. The tool displays all the operators available, the wired network (fiber, cable, or xDSL) or wireless (fixed 4G, HD and THD radio, satellite). You can check for yourself that, contrary to the jokes we often hear, fiber optics is relatively well present in Corrèze.

In the example above, the address is eligible for FTTH optical fiber with two ISPs (Internet Service Providers): Free and Orange. You can also take out a satellite subscription, although that doesn't seem to make sense in this specific case. Moreover, Arcep has not integrated the Starlink offer for the moment, but Nordnet and Numerisat are well referenced.

Note that these are data from June 30, 2021, which may generate errors if optical fiber has been deployed since that date or a new operator has set up. There are also fixed 4G offers, but nothing prevents you from creating a tailor-made fixed 4G offer by taking the mobile plan and the equipment separately.
