GoPro has announced the new version of its editing application. Quik will allow you to create your video sequences, even if you don't have a GoPro camera. Here is a quick overview.

GoPro camera users know it well: the easiest way to retrieve and share your videos on the fly is to go through the Quik application on your smartphone. Available on Android and iOS, the application benefits from a major update this Wednesday.

This revised and corrected version of Quik will allow all users to edit and share their video sequences, whether they were filmed with GoPro or not. The application makes it possible to retrieve the photos and videos that you have captured directly from the smartphone in addition to those filmed with a manufacturer's camera.
Once the different video sequences have been selected, you can choose to let the application completely control it. Quik will automatically suggest a style of video editing, both in terms of music and transitions or the font of the different titles. You can also choose the length of the final video or the video export format, in 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, 3:4 or 9:16. Of course, these different parameters can be modified manually.
It is thus possible to choose from 13 themes – each of which can be personalized to modify the font or the transitions in particular – from 13 music on offer – not to mention those you have on your smartphone and the GoPro catalog – but also modify the duration of each sequence. The different sequences can also be edited to modify the exposure, the contrast, the shadows, the highlights, but also the speed or the frame. The application also allows you to add a text field overlaying the image.
Overall, the application offers a rather intuitive editing system, without too much frills, but with the essential functions that one would expect from a solution of this type.
In addition to editing and editing functions, Quik also offers unlimited storage of photos and videos in the cloud. All the video sequences and all the images that you have used in the GoPro application can thus be saved automatically. Nevertheless, this function has a cost, since it is part of the GoPro subscription. For users who have already subscribed to this offer, these functions are therefore supported by the subscription. Others can however take out a subscription at the price of 1.99 euros per month or 9.99 euros per year.

In addition to this unlimited cloud storage function, the subscription to Quik will also unlock some additional functions such as premium themes, original music or filters designed by GoPro.

Downloading the Quik application is therefore free with a trial period. However, to take full advantage of it, users will need to take out a subscription for 2 euros per month or 10 euros per year. Subscribers to the GoPro offer will be able to take advantage of it for free.
The Quik application is available from this Wednesday on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.
