Garmin today strengthens its position in the off-road market with a new trio of products aimed at adventurers. With Tread, the new rugged GPS specially designed for off-roading and its Group Ride Tracker, the Garmin PowerSwitch TM box and the BC TM 40 wireless camera and tube mount, riders can jump on their side-by-side, their quad or their snowmobile to explore the sand dunes, the forest paths in the rain or the snowy and mountainous landscapes in complete serenity
Tread 5.5” is waterproof and very bright making it the perfect partner for off-road adventures on rugged terrain. For group outings, the Group Ride Tracker makes it possible to geolocate each driver even in the absence of a telephone network. The Garmin PowerSwitch can be used to control 12 volt vehicle accessories (lights, air compressor…) from the Tread screen. For better visibility of the landscape and obstacles on the navigation screen, the BC 40 wireless camera can be fixed to the structure of the quad and used with the Tread device.

The Tread VHF system, called Group Ride Tracker, allows drivers to track each other and share their geolocation with a group of up to 20 people. Thus, one can follow his friends on the map and send them predefined messages via the group. Drivers can also pair the use of Tread with a Bluetooth ® headset or hands-free kit.
In addition, Tread can also be associated with most Garmin inReach ® satellite communication devices to stay in touch via messaging, check weather forecasts. Or access the interactive SOS system.
With the new Tread mobile app, users can easily import/export GPX files. Access live weather forecasts, receive smartphone notifications.
