All of the networks of the Facebook group have been the victim, since the end of the afternoon, of a giant outage that is affecting the whole world.

There are certainly tens or even hundreds of millions of users of the social networks of the giant Facebook who, since Monday afternoon, have been deprived of their precious platforms. Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger… no network or subsidiary of Mark Zuckerberg's firm is spared by a global outage, the cause of which is officially unknown.

A global outage that lasts, that lasts...

If we don't know for the moment, therefore, precisely what is causing the Facebook outage, the first reports of which date back to 5:00 p.m. Paris time, we already know, from a banal watch on competing platforms such as Twitter or via the Downdetector site, that the breakage is global. France, United States, Japan, Germany, Australia, Indonesia, South Africa, Israel, Canada, Italy, Pakistan, Turkey, United Kingdom or Spain (list far from complete), not a single major country hosting the networks Facebook's social media is not spared from this massive outage.

Facebook also took the floor officially at 6:14 p.m. on Monday on Twitter, to comment on the incident. "We are aware that some people are having difficulty accessing the Facebook app (Editor's note: and others, it may be added). We are working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience. ."

The first leads on the Facebook incident are emerging

Speech is important in these times- there, and that of John Graham-Cumming, the CTO of the Cloudflare host, is interesting. The specialist explains that he noticed, a few minutes before Facebook's DNS fell, that they had undergone a very large number of modifications to BGP routers. To simplify, these routers allow the machine to function. A human error could be the cause of the incident, but this obviously remains to be confirmed.
