On Friday, Edward Norton posted a message on social media in tribute to Meat Loaf, his co-star in Fight Club, after the announcement of the death of the singer of Bat Out of Hell at the age of 74.
In one of the cult 1999 film's opening scenes, Norton's character is seen being enthusiastically kissed by Meat Loaf's "Bob."
“I don't keep movie stills at home. But I have this one framed in my office because it makes me smile every time, Norton tweeted on Friday. It's engraved with 'Love and Hugs, Meat', that sums it up nicely. He was so funny. And soft. And warm to everyone. A gentle soul. RIP Meat Loaf. »
Outside of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Fight Club is perhaps Meat Loaf's most notable movie role. "For us, he will always be 'Bob'," added Norton. They were wonderful months of laughter and irreverence. The hardest thing about working with Meat was getting through all those ridiculous moments without laughing. He would lie on the table playing dead, then he would sing Zeppelin. Good moments. »
Following Meat Loaf's passing on Friday, Cher, Brian May, Alice Cooper, Andrew Lloyd Webber and others also paid tribute to the legendary singer who dubbed himself "the Robert De Niro of rock."
