"For me, the health pass is not explicit enough for the elderly. Could we give a summary?", asks Virginie via the orange Alert us button. We have decided to respond to his wish and present in this article the procedure to follow.
Since the announcement of the introduction of a health pass (called Covid Safe ticket in Belgium), Virginie, 27, has been worried about her grandparents. Living in Brussels, all four are used to going to restaurants and regularly go to hospitals for medical examinations. "My grandfather goes, every lunchtime, to drink his glass of wine in town, after eating. All four also have medical appointments twice a week", says the young woman. From October 15, they will now have to present a Covid Safe Ticket (CST) to get there. Something they've never done before. By contacting them, Virginie realizes that they did not know how to obtain it, whether in digital or paper version. "I helped them. I didn't know how to get it in paper form so I called infocoronavirus.be. In 10 minutes, it was done for the four", she tells us.
Nevertheless, the situation challenges him. This young woman, originally from Braine-l'Alleud, works in a nursing home and notices that the elderly are a little lost in all these steps to be taken via the internet. However, his grandparents are informed every day by the traditional media. "If other elderly and vaccinated people do not know how to get it and find themselves blocked, it is quite sad. (…) If they do not have access to the internet, it is difficult for them to find the numbers phone to call," she observes.
As a reminder, the CST uses the principle of the European Union's digital covid certificate. Concretely, it is:
- proof of complete vaccination (two doses, except for the Johnson & Johnson vaccine which requires only one dose) or- a negative PCR test less than 72 hours old, or a test rapid antigen within 48 hours or - proof of recovery within six months of testing positive for covid-19
This data generates a QR code, which can be scanned in the event of an inspection. But how to get it? There are three ways to get it.
3 WAYS TO GET THE COVID SAFE TICKET

Install the Itsme app and create an account

2. BY TELEPHONE THEN BY MAIL
(ATTENTION - For vaccination certificate only, not for test result or recovery certificate)
If you are having difficulty accessing the internet and wish to obtain a paper version, it is possible to receive your vaccination certificate by post.
For Brussels > call the call center on 02/214 19 19
Follow the instructions given by telephone.
For Wallonia > call the call center on 071/31 34 93.
Two possibilities:
- Via an autoresponder and you will need to type in your national register number
- Via a human operator with whom you will speak to send your certificate to your home by post
3. WITH THE CovidSafeBE APP
You must therefore download this application if you do not have it yet. Activating this application and placing your certificate in this application requires identification. You can do this identification via the Itsme application (see above).
You can also search for new certificates for you (in case you have just received a dose of vaccination or you have just performed a PCR test) and your children. In the CovidSafeBE app, you press "Search for new certificates", then you press "Connect with eHealth". A web page then opens and you press "Identification via Istme".
